We ask that you make an appointment if you are a new consignor so we can set aside time just for you. After your first time, you can use our "drop and run" system to save time and effort.
Clothes sell better if in-style. If you bought it new within the last year or two, it will probably be fine. We take in-season clothing on or after these dates:
February 1st - Spring/Summer
August 1st - Fall/Winter
October 1st - Winter coats
- Items must be in good condition, freshly cleaned, in style and season. We ask that everything be on hangers (you'll get your hangers back) and pressed. Please inspect for missing buttons, tears, snags, etc., before you bring them to us. We also ask that they be free of stains as well as smoke, perfume and mothball odors. Remember, the better it looks, the more money you will make.
- Please understand if we cannot accept some of your items. The lighting in our store is most likely very different from your home and can be very unforgiving. Also remember, our selection will be set by our customer's preferences. The earlier in season you bring your items in, the better they will sell. We will be choosier as the season passes. For the best return, bring in your items on the above dates!
- We'll set the selling price. You will receive 50% of the price listed on your inventory receipt, less any markdowns. All unsold items are marked down 50% during the last month of the consignment period. The PWCS reserves the right to take additional mark-downs and offer sales at our discretion.
- You are welcome to use your account credit at any time for store purchases. You will receive one check at the end of your consignment period. The checks are mailed between the 1st and the 5th.
- Your consignment period is between 90 - 120 days. If you want an item returned, you must pick it up before your ending date. After your consignment period is ended, unsold items are pulled and donated. We ask that you call ahead if you wish to pick up unsold items.
